Based on ‘Twas the night before Christmas, The Night Before St。 Patrick’s Day is an instant classic。 Thank you to General Mills for providing this free copy for my little free library! This book started a new St。 Patrick’s Day tradition for me and my family。

A delightful book just in time for St。 Patrick's Day akin to "The Night Before Christmas"。 It will give your children magical dreams full of tricky leprechauns and pots of gold! I was lucky to have won this book for my Little Free Library - just follow the leprechaun tracks! I'm surprised at how hard it is to find books for young kids about St。 Patrick's Day。 This has nice illustrations and is a cute little silly story in rhyme。 I think very young children will enjoy it though the rhyme does not fall off the tongue as easily as Clement Moore's version。 I'm surprised at how hard it is to find books for young kids about St。 Patrick's Day。 This has nice illustrations and is a cute little silly story in rhyme。 I think very young children will enjoy it though the rhyme does not fall off the tongue as easily as Clement Moore's version。 。。。more

A quick read for childrenThe rhyming pattern and familiarity of this book to ‘Twas a Night Before Christmas will make children laugh and enjoy a slightly less celebrated holiday。

Two siblings are excited to catch a leprechaun on the following day, which is St。 Patrick’s Day。 They create treats and lay traps to catch the little Irish fae and get his pot of gold。I like the ideas the children come up with decorating and setting up traps。 For me growing up St。 Patrick’s Day was mostly a day for everyone to wear green and say they are Irish。I am not sure how I feel about the way the story is told。 It takes more than part of the title from The Night Before Christmas story。 Par Two siblings are excited to catch a leprechaun on the following day, which is St。 Patrick’s Day。 They create treats and lay traps to catch the little Irish fae and get his pot of gold。I like the ideas the children come up with decorating and setting up traps。 For me growing up St。 Patrick’s Day was mostly a day for everyone to wear green and say they are Irish。I am not sure how I feel about the way the story is told。 It takes more than part of the title from The Night Before Christmas story。 Part of me dislikes it for using it as a gimmick and the other part of me wishes I thought of it first。 Sometimes the writing does not fit。 In fact, when I was reading it sometimes I thought of different words that just seemed better to end sentences with than what was used。I would read another from Natasha Wings Night Before Series as I said I like the ideas。 I do think kids would like this one and is a fun way to introduce St。 Patrick’s Day。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I thought this was so cute and charming。 I had added this years ago and didn't remember the synopsis, but when I found out the two kids were trying to trap a leprechaun I thought it was such a cute idea for a story and perfect for the holiday。 I loved the cover page with all those little leprechauns, and the box that said enter with arrows pointing and a note that said shiny treasure here was so funny。 That clued you in to the mood of the story and the shenanigans of the kids trying to trap this I thought this was so cute and charming。 I had added this years ago and didn't remember the synopsis, but when I found out the two kids were trying to trap a leprechaun I thought it was such a cute idea for a story and perfect for the holiday。 I loved the cover page with all those little leprechauns, and the box that said enter with arrows pointing and a note that said shiny treasure here was so funny。 That clued you in to the mood of the story and the shenanigans of the kids trying to trap this creature。 There was a leprechaun showing up in the house while they were decorating, holding a crayon, and hanging off of the decorations, hiding behind a ball of yarn。 Meanwhile they were devising all these plans to trap him。 They drew plans to put a ring on the floor tied to a ring and to pull the string。 They made boxes and used containers and a tissue box to trap the little guy in with lures of coins and gold lockets and notes advertising shiny things。 He would walk up and fall in and be trapped。 So cute! The visions dancing in their heads were of golden coins, and their dog dreamt of a bone at the end of the rainbow。 An adorable touch。 Their dad played the bagpipe that morning and their mom served green eggs。 The clatter was from their shared room and they all went to the door and discovered a colossal mess。 The girl said they had to hold his stars, because if you look away even to blink they'll disappear。 I had learned that in another St。 Patrick's Day book I read recently。 And then they heard him inside one of their traps。 They stared at him and told him to tell them where the gold is。 He told them he buried it under a rock marked X but when they went outside they discovered the entire yard was full of marked rocks and he had tricked them。 He gloated that he had fooled them and wished them better luck next year。I would have liked it better had he not fooled them or been trapped。 I think I had a problem with leprechauns actually existing, and I can't remember if her other books contain the real holiday creatures。 I always have a problem with these when the writing is too close to the original, like they were snug in their beds and visions dancing in their heads, and arose such a clatter, seeing what was the matter。 They're at their best during the moments of originality when the words of Twas the Night Before Christmas aren't copied directly。 But the illustrations are so cute and colorful and the idea is just adorable and so cute! 。。。more

This is written in the style of The Night before Christmas but for St。 Patrick's Day which doesn't make much sense to be honest。 The writing doesn't rhyme and the drawings are childish but at least the Leprechaun is a nice detail。 This is written in the style of The Night before Christmas but for St。 Patrick's Day which doesn't make much sense to be honest。 The writing doesn't rhyme and the drawings are childish but at least the Leprechaun is a nice detail。 。。。more

This is a fun riff on the classic “Night Before Christmas” that highlights some St。 Pats traditions。 I’m sure it’d be good in the classroom the day before St。 Patrick’s Day。

The Night Before St。 Patrick's Day is a children's picture book written by Natasha Wing and illustrated by Amy Wummer。 It is a book about a family getting ready for St。 Patrick's Day。 As today is the day before St。 Patrick's Day (16 March), I thought reading this book would be apropos。Wing's text is simplistic and lyrical。 It is written in the style of "The Night Before Christmas"。 The poem was written especially well and follows the rhythm and style of the original poem extremely well。 Wummer's The Night Before St。 Patrick's Day is a children's picture book written by Natasha Wing and illustrated by Amy Wummer。 It is a book about a family getting ready for St。 Patrick's Day。 As today is the day before St。 Patrick's Day (16 March), I thought reading this book would be apropos。Wing's text is simplistic and lyrical。 It is written in the style of "The Night Before Christmas"。 The poem was written especially well and follows the rhythm and style of the original poem extremely well。 Wummer's illustrations are wonderfully depicted, albeit a tad cartoonish, but represented the text and tone rather well。The premise of the book is rather straightforward。 It follows a family as they get ready for the St。 Patrick's Day and the kids adorably set up leprechaun traps in the attempts to capture one。 Fantastically, they managed to get one, but were tricked out of the pot of gold coins that was promised。 However, before he disappeared, he wished them better luck next year。All in all, The Night Before St。 Patrick's Day is a wonderful children's book done in the style of "The Night Before Christmas"。 It is a story about a family with two young children celebrating the Irish holiday and trying to catch a leprechaun or two。 。。。more

I really wanted to like this story based upon the poetic style of The Night Before Christmas。But I just don't。 The idea was cute and I liked the way the family got ready for St。 Patrick's Day。 I did laugh out loud when the Father started playing the bagpipes。But the leprechaun was sneaky and devious。 I don't think that is a good lesson for little ones to learn。 I really wanted to like this story based upon the poetic style of The Night Before Christmas。But I just don't。 The idea was cute and I liked the way the family got ready for St。 Patrick's Day。 I did laugh out loud when the Father started playing the bagpipes。But the leprechaun was sneaky and devious。 I don't think that is a good lesson for little ones to learn。 。。。more
